James Hall - our lead developer and one of our directors - has been announced as a Community Hero for Amazon Web Services, a cloud services platform that provides computing power, database storage and content delivery to help businesses scale and grow.AWS Community Heroes are considered experts who go the extra mile to share their experience and knowledge through social media, blogs, events, user groups and workshops. The program is designed to recognise and honour developers who’ve had a real impact within the digital community. As host of the "Leeds AWS User Group", James is a key advocate for working and partnering with Amazon. The quarterly meetups offer local web developers and digital hobbyists a chance to get together and discuss all things virtual. With talks on topics such as the “Internet of Things” and the Lambda platform, they offer best-practice tips for using AWS products and services. Our desire to keep up to speed with the newest technologies inspired us to host the local Amazon Web Services user group. This led us to working and partnering with AWS to deliver large-scale solutions for clients. I’m extremely honoured to have been appointed as a Community Hero - I just hope I can live up to the title!,Over the years, James has worked on websites and apps for some of our extremely high-profile clients, such as advertising software for British Airways, a voting system for Sportswomen of the Year for The Sunday Times and Sky Sports, and an app for Enterprise Car Club.James regularly puts his AWS knowledge and expertise to good use. Last year, he helped build an online recording studio for David Guetta and UEFA which pulled together a million individual audio samples for the official Euro 2016 anthem. He is also author of the popular jsPDF and a key partner and contributor to the Serverless Framework.Further to chairing local user groups, James is also a speaker at the global AWS Summit in London. In 2016, he gave a talk on the benefits of serverless technology and cloud computing. It is the enthusiasm and engagement of people like James that helped create such a vibrant worldwide community. He now joins the likes of Solutions Architect Ryan Kroonenburg, Data Scientist Cyrus Wong and security expert Teri Radichel in the AWS Community Heroes hall of fame.
