BigChange is a leader in job management software, empowering users to easily manage their businesses and workforce to increase efficiency and drive growth, all in one single system. They had a distinct value proposition, an aspirational customer base, and an industry-leading position. But their website was lacking engagement and failing to convert, and with big growth plans they needed a scalable digital platform and the most impactful website in the sector.
The requirement was to create high-traffic, high-value pages that reflect BigChange’s status as a market leader, showcases the power of their product and features, on a platform that converts.
The first priority was to define the project roadmap and understand BigChange’s digital objectives, customer insights, and the role of the website in supporting their growth. Through a series of workshops, user needs were mapped and high value pages were identified to set priorities through the design phase.
The exploration of customer profiles, brand values, principles, and language cues revealed a critical need for a modern, consistent identity that resonates with BigChange’s audience. Research into content benchmarking further highlighted opportunities to simplify the brand language for greater accessibility and refocus core messaging to spotlight the strengths of the BigChange platform, driving improved engagement.
The decision to build the new website on Webflow was guided by a strategic approach focused on delivering a platform that met BigChange’s needs for flexibility, efficiency, and scalability. Webflow was selected for its ability to provide a seamless blend of design freedom and robust functionality, enabling the creation of a dynamic website that could evolve alongside the brand.
Key considerations included its cost-effectiveness, allowing for lower operating expenses over time, and its speed to market, which was crucial for launching updates and staying ahead in a competitive landscape. Webflow’s intuitive, user-friendly interface also ensured that BigChange’s internal team could easily manage and update the site without reliance on external developers, fostering independence and efficiency. By choosing Webflow, the solution aligned with BigChange’s goals for a modern, agile, digital presence, empowering both the brand and its team to innovate and grow.
The focus of this project was to evolve BigChange’s brand to reflect its position as a premium, forward-thinking tech company. With a logo already well-recognised in the industry, the effort centered on modernising the broader brand language. This included introducing an accessible and future-ready colour palette, updated typography, and a refined visual representation of the platform. Addressing inconsistencies across the website, marketing materials, and app outputs created a unified and innovative identity, providing strong foundations for BigChange’s internal product team to build upon.
BigChange’s refreshed proposition and innovative visual language were showcased through a website designed for high impact. Starting with key pages like the home and pricing sections, a reverse proxy approach allowed for an agile, data-driven rollout. The design evolved based on real-world user interactions during a two-week test period, leading to significant results:
A mobile-first philosophy ensured fast load times and seamless experiences across all devices. Using Webflow’s flexibility, the team was empowered to make updates efficiently, keeping the platform adaptable and innovative.
The transformation resulted in a modern, cohesive digital presence that delivers a consistent and polished user experience. Key pages were optimised with intuitive navigation, clear calls to action, and engaging visuals, driving higher user engagement and conversion rates.
Tailored training and support ensured BigChange’s team had the confidence and tools to manage and grow their digital platform independently. The new design positions the brand as a forward-thinking industry leader, delivering a user-centric experience that supports ongoing growth and innovation.
In 2024, BigChange was acquired by Simpro Group at a valuation of £300 million, further cementing its status as a leading force in the job management sector.
